Outfit posts will return immanently (now that I'm back at university, in particular!) but today I'm sharing with you the pretty things I found and bought on my trip to the Blue Mountains.
Two vintage dresses, probably to sell at the market stall Tim and I are planning (when the weather gets warmer). There is a third one, but it is still being washed. (I may possibly have spilled the tiniest bit of hot chocolate on it. Ahem.)
The suitcase I found on the side of the road during council clean up (I am quite the scavenger), with a fabulous scarf I found in an op shop, and a wonderful leather skirt (also from an op shop). I can't wait to take in the leather skirt and wear it with things - particularly with cardigans, brooches and pretty blouses. And, the hat! Not from a good angle, so here it is again;
It's navy in real life, and it's marvelous! I found it in a tiny, seldom open antiques store in Mount Victoria and it was being sold to aid orphans in East Timor, which is even lovelier. I want to get a white velvet ribbon for it as well. And, I am dying to get a perfect black cloche, and a perfect white summer hat.

The dresses are awful, but the hat is absolutely lovely!
gorgeous buys.
i loved your one outfit shot from the mountains, too.
i'm heading to the blue mountains for two or three nights later in augist - can you recommend anywhere in particular for shopping?
♥
er, i can't believe i just misspelled august. tres embarrassment.
Oh I love the hat! And the leather skirt looks wonderful also.
You are so good at finding lovely treasures!
i love the plain blue dress, i think its great.
also, i have a high waisted leather shirt i got off ebay, and i wear it waaaaay too often! it looks so great with the pretty blouses that i have a penchant for
I love that hat. The simplicity makes it so cool.
I was wondering, would you like to do a link exchange with my blog?
I really do love that hat so much, it's beautiful! I understand your quest for the perfect cloche- I have been on the lookout for one for a while now. It's hard to find one that suits an individual haircut just right (or that has been my experience at least! it might be easier with long hair?).
love the dresses, esp the floral one! i can't believe you found the suitcase on the road. i had to buy mine from the USA. look at my blog to see what i wore to uni today :) it has been horribly cold hasn't it!! and wet and windy.
i love the dresses...perfect for summer cinched in with a lovely belt! hope you had fun at the mountains!
Francesca - I won't be at all offended, as the dresses are not for me (they're for a market stall) - glad you like the hat.
hannah - Katoomba was good shopping, loads of vintage stores with clothes and a few op shops. And, Leura has a fabulous vintage clothing store (quite big!), so do go there!
Miss Karen L - Thank you! And if I'm good at it, it's because I am SO often in op shops!
qwerty_zoe - I really love the idea of a leather skirt with pretty blouses, so I can't wait to take mine in!
Fashion Addict - Thanks, I am so pleased with that hat. And, I would love to trade links, I really like how thoughtful your blog is.
Frances Baker - How funny, I was convinced that a cloche would be better with short hair! It is proving so elusive to the point where I am looking quite seriously at a knitting pattern I found for one.
e - All of your outfits are ridiculously awesome, I wish I had known about your blog before! I am linking you as soon as I finish this comment. And, I found the suitcase inside a larger one that my boyfriend wanted - how lucky is that?!
AnastasiaC - I had a wonderful time! And, I can see the floral one particularly with a white cinched waist belt...I hope whoever I eventually sell it to does that!
I can't believe you found that suitcase by the side of the road. I've been really wanting one like that, what a good find!
