Today was a series of minor disasters. It began when I managed to have a sudden nosebleed just as I was leaving the house. It was so odd (I haven't had one since I was a kid!) and so very unpleasant, and made me miss my first lecture. Then I accidentally wore shoes too high for uni (though they are pretty) and also had a large group of school girls heckle me as I got off the train (I think it was the beret they objected to - and I was wearing my leather trench coat). I had a lovely lunch with friends new and old but then went to a lecture, convinced myself it was the wrong one (the topics and lecturers change very frequently) and left ten minutes before it ended - only to later discover it was the right one after all, I just hadn't realised that Norse Mythology would follow on from Ovid's poetry and the film 'O Brother Where Art Thou?' Oh well, if that's what constitutes a bad day for me, I'm a very lucky girl.
The socks I'm wearing are thigh high and ribbed, and actually a mustard color, not as light as they appear. I apologise for the picture, my fringe was even more over my eyes in most of them - I also seemed to be having an emo hair day. I really rather enjoyed matching the scarf around my waist and my beret, and my socks to the strain of mustard in the scarf as well. I usually don't repeat colors (except black and white) in an outfit, but I think I want to play with it more now, and perhaps multiple shades of the same color. What fun!

I like the floaty fabric of the dress, it makes me feel like perhaps summer will be here soon, maybe...an yet it's not even spring yet, I should be realistic! :P
Your colour matching worked out very well. I hope that tomorrow is a better day!
(Also, first!)
Your beret is so cute! And your hair looks lovely! I love that the colour coordination in your outfit is just right, not too matchy matchy.
naw! I do hate it when you get crap for having style and not conforming to being a supre clone [sydney sucks with this, i live in the sutherland shire which is one of the indisputable morgues of style].
Trust me, if I saw you in real life, I would do far from heckle! it would be more like. :O. itsthelifeaesthetic! hehe :)
and nosebleeds also suck
Regardless
you contrasted the sucky day with an awesome outfit! I love the use of the scarf to belt the dress, and add some colour :)
hope tomorrow is better for you!
Brooke :)
at least you look lovely! what rude schoolgirls, i've actually never had that experience. i especially love the beret and the dress, but the whole outfit is gorgeous.
Ignore the haters and the nosebleeds... you look stunning!!
You look so nice in that beret... I'm jealous! Hehe.. :)
Oh, sounds like a tough day, indeed! Tomorrow will surely be better, don't worry. :) I think it can even be a good thing to have some "disaster days" in your life; then you'll learn to appreciate little joys of life.
About your outfit; you look fabulous as always. I also have a red beret and am just waiting it'd be cold enough to wear it without feeling stupid. Those shoes are also great, I've been hunting for shoes with T-straps quite a while now, but I guess I'll need to check some bigger second-hand stores than our local ones to have any luck with my hunting.
lovely, lovely, lovely.
i like the soft whimsy of your dress, especially contrasted with the wool, and i imagine it looked amazing with the leather trench.
don't worry about the hecklers, they are just jealous and stupid and have no other outlet for their envy of your great style :)
♥
Some days are just a catalogue of minor disasters and there's nothing to be done about it, but you still managed to look cool as a cucumber! A little bit of colour matching is a good thing too.
you were heckled??? that's terrible!
i love the scarf as a belt!
i hope you have a better day tomorrow.
I love this outfit, the dress is stunning. And boo to school girl hecklers, they'll be trying to copy your outfits in a few years time so they should really buy a clue...
oh wow this outfit is so lovely! I love how you tied the scarf around your waist like that!
Well it might not have been your best day, but as always you look beautiful :)
I adore the scarf around your waist. I've been trying to do that for a year but to no avail...I love the look but it doesn't seem to work with my wardrobe.
And I like the matchey-matchey but then I am always doing that myself so I'm biased!

No matter how life treats you, you may rest easy in the knowledge you look frightfully fabulous all the time :)
Well I'm sorry you had a bad day of sorts.
Although you say these are a light mustard colour they look lovely as cream. Thats what colour I thought they were!
It's nice to see you try another colour other than red- but then red tights are like your signature!

oh, sorry to hear about the uni trouble, I get that all the time... you'll settle in rightaway I promise.
laura - I bought the t-straps new on Ebay UK, there are loads if you're so inclined.
MR style - It wasn't a bad day because of what I was wearing, I just had a lot of minor disasters!
