New Season, New Silhouette

Spring has sprung!

Dress – Op Shop (Altered)
Tights – Shopping Centre Stock Stall
Shoes – Jane Debster via Ebay
Bag – Scavenged
Bangle – Hippy Store in New Zealand

Yesterday was the first day of Spring (where I live), so I dressed accordingly. It was quite warm, so I didn’t suffer for it. The dress was originally quite long and very wide when I bought it, so it has been much altered – and I know how much it needs ironing! I resisted the urge to belt it – I might wear it belted at some point, but I actually rather enjoyed just wearing it as a shift. The tights I’m wearing are a very pale pink – so pale they barely show up in the photo. But, it is certainly a change from my usual red or white. This is the first time I’ve worn the shoes since I got them, nothing seemed to look right with them. And, again, my hair is up! I’m actually having quite a lot of fun with high swishy pony tails, I need some coloured ribbon to complete the look.

You can see my boyfriend and photographer in the reflection of this photo. For him, Spring has not sprung, as he was in a shirt, tie, woollen vest and blazer jacket.

And, a gigantic apology to all of you! I haven’t updated for a whole week, I know. I was in absolute essay hell – I had two essays due yesterday and last week I had presentation and source analysis. Everything is very much under control now though, and I shall attempt to post at least every second day, as I said I would.

And, I’d love to know what you, my dear readers, were wearing on the first day of spring (or autumn, as the case may be, or “fall” – I do like that term!).

Apologies also for the way this post is formatted, it will be fixed tonight - I'm on a slightly dodgy computer at university right now.

Happy spring to you too - when I saw the photo the fold in the skirt made it look like you were wearing a playsuit - which would have made the "New Silhouette" heading very apt indeed!

You look lovely, very spring-like without dousing yourself in florals and bright colours! I didn't wear anything exciting yesterday because it was still miserably cold :(

I really like the new style outfits you've been wearing! I've been feeling the same way, wanting to change up my style a bit, and I have a feeling that it's just the changing of the seasons. Can't wait to see your new outfits!

Love this look on you! It's so clean and long and lean.
You really suit your hair in a pony and it gives the outfit a fun touch.
I'm also loving your bag, it goes so well with your outfit :)

I love your leather satchel and shoes. I have a bag not entirely dissimilar. And I like how we can see your beau/photographer peeking out in the reflection. Fall hasn't fallen here in the U.S. south yet... I am still wearing cardigans and scarves as if I can convince it to stop being 90 degrees by sheer nonsense alone...

I think your shoes work very well with the pale tights, it creates a nice long clean line ;) Spring has not quite sprung where I live yet so I was decked out in the same old same old.

Skye - I wish it was a playsuit! I will have to have one soon.

PorcelainBlonde - Thank you so much for saying that about my hair in a pony tail! I'm so self-conscious about my hair being up.

Ali - the boyfriend seems to feel the cold on the warmest of days, so he was actually okay!
