Preppier than thou...

Beret - Myer
Blouse - Munky Bizness
Cardigan - SES
Skirt - Myer
Tights - Voodoo
Shoes - Ebay
Bag - Vintage (Ebay)

Today was mostly spent at uni editing an essay, which I handed in just before lunchtime. As such, I was very much in the mood for the preppy look this morning. I always tend to go for geek chic or preppy when I've got a lot of uni work to do.

The ribbon bow I'm wearing was actually tied evenly, the angle of the picture makes it look lopsided, I know.

How do you dress when you're under a bit of pressure? (Academic or otherwise)

I was just discussing with my friend the other day how whenever I have an essay to write I start dressing in my comfiest, most uninspiring clothes (generally leggings and a baggy t-shirt). I really like your idea of dressing up for work & playing up the preppy look. Clothes really do affect my mood and I bet I would feel a lot better about having to work if I was in some fun clothes!

I love your outfit here - the colours go so well and your bag is awesome!

If I'm under pressure I still dress the same way so it's a funny sight to see a short girl in a frilly dress all huffy and exasperated!

Very cute! I find that I get more uni work done if I am dressed up all preppy too. That said I find I present best (loads of design presentations) in monotonal colours in classic styles (screams architect apparently).
Love the little bow.

Very cute and preppy indeed! I like the way you're very studiously ignoring that garbage bin.

Great outfit, perfectly put together. I do the same when it comes to book-learnin', preppiness makes the mind work clearer. Heels are always uplifting (pun completely intended)

when i am stressed i dress for comfort, unless i have to go to class or meet with the professor, then i try to look nice.

I feel the exact same way. On the weekend I wear all kinds of ridiculous things, but when I'm at school I opt for high waisted skirt, blazers, cardis, loafers, oxfords, berets, and bowlers. And stockings! Of course today was such a stressful day that I had a mere 60 seconds to get dressed which means I wore what was closest to my hands...

So cute! When under stress I go for something easy.. something I know I'm comfortable in and won't have to fuss over.

Hi Rachael, I'm Hayley

Usually when I'm under pressure I'm in a rush, so I wear whatever is closest or that I look at first, and no time for deliberating!

So I might look like a bit of a tool because I haven't had time to think 'hey that's a bit too crazy an outfit to wear' and change.
Or I'll just dress in something incredibly boring.

That's so cute. I love the bag. Honestly, when I'm under pressure, I just throw on jeans and a cute top. Lame, I know.

I wear load of jewellery, and a lot of black. I might take your lead with the preppy look though, it's so cute!
I love the necktie especially.

When I was still in uni and swotting for exams, I would have an 'uniform' for each exam period, generally made up of the daggiest combination of clothes I could find, so that I would NOT be tempted to leave the house and neglect my study. Once my housemate told me I looked like a crazy person, haha!

I like your idea of dressing preppy though, it's far more stylish and refined. You look great, and I love that you wear heels to uni!

When I'm stressed I like to wear very high heels and clip clop around in them loudly to make my presence known.

this is such a lovely outfit! if i'm under stress and staying inside i usually wear my 'scruff' as i call it, which is just jeans, t-shirt and uni hoodie. sometimes if i'm going out though i try to dress a bit nicer cos it makes me feel a bit better.

Maybe I should try dressing up for when I'm attempting uni work though! Maybe that's why offices make people dress smarter too, to be more productive.
